A little bit about me

 I am passionate about telling stories, making connections, finding cohesion, surprising audiences, creating opportunities for play, bringing people together, and building communities through culture.

As an experienced artistic curator, director and leader with 7+ years of experience, I am dedicated to creating and producing artistic experiences of all sizes: from intimate one-on-one encounters to large scale festivals.

highlights

CURATION: NUIT BLANCHE @ THE AGA KHAN MUSEUM

Curation and artistic project management of all-night contemporary art event Nuit Blanche at the Aga Khan Museum and Ismaili Centre as part of the City of Toronto’s Major Institutions partnership program for the city-wide event in September 2018.

Envisioning Toronto as a site shaped by continuous arrivals and valuable encounters between people from all over the world— the event took shape through cultural exchanges between over 8000 visitors and 80 artists in more than 30 performances and two installations in 10 unique spaces — from a Mongolian yurt to an All-American Airstream.

 

LEADERSHIP: TO CANADA WITH LOVE: 150 SESQUICENTENNIAL @ THE CITY OF TORONTO

As Programming Supervisor, helped to lead the curation and production of Canada Days events celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday which were attended by over 1 million people while booking cultural content for Humber Bay Park site, managing 40-person team as well as a $350,000 event budget. The artistic lineup proudly featured over 75% of acts that were led by women including the three head lining spots as well as an execution team that achieved a 50:50 gender balance. 

Spearheaded artistic vision and project management for Doors Open 2017/18, a city-wide event focused on architecture and design, that saw a 25% increase in attendance through partnerships with over 135 venue and 20 programming partners.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: ARTISTIC ASSOCIATE @ HARBOURFRONT CENTRE

Directed the planning and execution of 13 diverse multidisciplinary cultural events ranging from weekly concert series to 3-day long festivals consisting of over 50 individual programs across a 10-acre site located on

Toronto’s Waterfront. Highlights included project management of the Tirgan Festival, the world’s largest Iranian festival outside of Iran, attracting over 150,000 visitors and presenting over 200 local and international artists.
